I am like Richard Larch in Man from the North, written by Arnold Bennett in 1898 - 'There grows in the North Country a certain kind of youth of whom it may be said that he is to be born a Londoner'. Well from my first visit when I was 15 to whatever will be my last, I will never cease to love this amazing city. The one thing I will never do in my lifetime , is live there. I know the city so well though that I could but its unaffordable and what I have in the north far outreaches what would be possible in London. Still its only 2.5 hours from where I live and occasional cheap fares or inclusive holidays make it possible to visit reasonably frequently.
Despite the actual cost of living there , London is really no more expensive than where I live in Yorkshire. I wish we had fares as cheap in fact. So please read my ever increasing number of tips - these prove in many cases London can be good value.
OK so it rains occasionally but it does across Europe so should it rain there is so much to see and do indoors.
In fact, there is something for everyone here - this is the greatest city in the world.
