Fog - or as they are called locally - sea rokes - are an occasional problem throughout the year. As the photo of the South Bay shows the castle that would dominate this view cannot even be seen. Outside the town it was a sunny June day but in town and the fog lies low. Everything feels damp and it is not pleasant. It lingers too so if you arrive early and there is fog head out of town and come back another day if you can.

Thornton le Dale looks real nice :o) .....& yes, quite different from our Scarborough :o) Cheers, Ann. | garridogal Thu Apr 17, 2008 02:33 UTC Wow, all this and donkeys too! | nicolaitan Wed Aug 22, 2007 19:25 UTC What a great page on a great beach town. Your image of St. Mary's at night is terrific. And Thornton as well as Scarborough are so - well - English looking. Asbury will be quite different, I assure you. Really enjoyed this. N. |
