Pleasant town spoiled by cheap and nasty shops

Apart from a very nice beach area and harbour Turunc is spoiled by its many cheap and nasty souvenier and clothes shops - as with Mamaris and Icmeler aimed at the UK holiday maker.
The best way to visit the town is by boat from surrounding towns although there are Dolmus buses to Icmeler every hour.
The harbour is full of interest and worth visiting for this alone. A canal flows through the town and the impressive mountain range at the rear of the town shelters the town. Houses climb the mountain side and this is one of the most impressive towns I have seen from an ocean anywhere in the world.
What a pity when you land you are constantly offered imitation Liverpool shirts or fake Radley bags!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Beautiful setting
  • Cons:Horrible tacky shops and no real market
  • In a nutshell:Wotth visiting just for the setting the town lies in
