LITTLE THINGS TO KNOW: landmarks for the bagpackers
  • Tip Rating:
  • I noticed Indians love to make reference to locations as being "opposite" this place or that. And I also noticed that by "opposite", it may mean the location you seek is not just face to face, it is equally likely to be back to back or along the same street.

You could locate this Mandvi Fire Station as one landmark. It is along the same street as Shalimar Cold Drinks.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Mumbai ON THE STREETS

  • in Byculla area
  • by sha_stallion

  • Housing in Mumbai is scarce and expensive. Today slum dwellers make up 60% of Mumbai's population, that is approximately 7 million people. The eventually spread into the areas neighboring Byculla, such as: Mahim Creek, Parel, Dadar and Matunga and whereever else they can find space, even in roads. Slum inhabitants constantly have to deal with issues such as, constant migration, lack of water, no sewage or solid waste facilities, lack of public transit, pollution and housing shortages.
