During our daytrips in Jul 2004, our taxi often pass by this castle on the highway back to our hotel in Byculla but we don't know what this building is. But VTer aadil took a taxi in Sep 2004 and confirmed for us that this castle-like building is Sanitarium of the Jamshetji Jeejeebhoy (JJ) Hospital. God bless the helpful VTer aadil for checking this out for us!!!

It's actually good if you could roam Mumbai yourself rather than follow a planned itinerary by an agent. Look here a Rolex restaurant we came across! ; )

You would surely pass by the KR Cama Oriental Institute when you make a trip around Fort district. It seems to me this building mainly serves language schools, religious and language libraries and Zoroastrian classes.

The Gloria Church in Byculla is a Catholic Community Church that runs also a school for handicapped children. It is noteworthy that the columns of Byculla Church were shipped from England and originally meant for but were too large for Bombay Town Hall. Location: Dr Ambedkar Road, Sant Savtha Marg,Byculla

It is noteworthy that the columns of Byculla Church were shipped from England and originally meant for but were too large for Bombay Town Hall. In 1998 when Christian leaders peacefully protest against the threat of Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Gujarat government to stop grants-in-aid to the educational institutions run by their organisations, the Gloria Church in Byculla marked the protest by switching off the lights and people marched with candles. Constructed during the British Era, the grey stones of the Gloria Church support a lofty tower and four turrets that rise up to 160 feet and even today compete in height with the surrounding buildings.
