Beautiful Boston city of History

The English Are Coming (but only as tourists)

Snowbound George Wahington
Hope I'm right here and that is Paul Revere's statue. Thanks to vivelasteph & ddevito ( both VT friends of mine) for alerting me to the fact that this is actually George (I cannot tell a lie) Washington's statue above, not Paul Revere. Many thanks to them and also Demonia for alerting me to this & giving me the corect info'.

Unfortunately we had only 3 days here & didn't see nearly enough.

Mind you we were lucky to get here as all! We had been in Huntsville Alabama visiting friends (& Logan had been closed for 2 or 3 days can't remember exactly) then drove back to Mephis to stay overnight before flying to Boston. It was snowing in Memphis & when we got to the airport, no de-icing machines for the planes' wings meant maybe not getting out. But we did get out, late, but better late than never.

After we landed in Boston the pilot came on with two interesting pieces of information:

1. We were the last plane in and Logan was closed again;

2. The plane before us skidded off the end of the runway.

I was soooo pleased we didn't know that before we landed!

It was quite amazing to see a city function almost normally under such extreme weather conditions, but then I realised that this must be commonplace across the Northern U.S. (especially the North East) and Canada.

We Aussies really don't know the meaning of cold! But we learnt what it meant with 4 white Christmases (3 in Wisconsin), skiing in Michigan's U.P. and attending a Packers game at Lambeau Field in the open!

 Yeah, the Northeast can get really cold . . . glad you got to Legal Seafood, though - love that restaurant!
