Bouillon Racine: A Taste of Art Noveau?

Our group from the Art Gallery Society of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) had an introductory group dinner here on the first evening in Paris. As such it was a set menu.
The second time some of our group ate there was at lunch after visiting Musee Cluny & we could choose whatever we wanted.
See my photos for both exterior and interior shots. It's a very attractive restaurant, but of course that is not the most important thing. Ambience is important and it had a good amount of that. Food & service were good.
I would recommend this eating place for fellow travellers, best of all if you were staying on the left bank within walking distance. Next time I go back I think I'll stay in either this area or the Marais!

Favorite Dish: On the first occasion I was given a rare steak which wasn't too bad, but I'm not much of a red meat eater so didn't enjoy it that much. The wine & dessert were both very nice.
On the second occasion I had a salmon dish and it was very nice indeed again accompanied by a suitable and enjoyable matching wine.

Visting Musee Jacquemart Andre is worthwhile in its own right, but little did I suspect what a treat was in store for me (& that my friends is a classic piece of understatement!). Our group had a late-ish morning tea there after doing in an interesting audio tour of this delightfully interesting museum.

Favorite Dish: Any of the fruit tarts would have been, but I had to settle for one didn't I. Yes unfortunately dear reader one only pour moi! Because after all I didn't want to put on the extra 2-3 kilograms that the guide books warned I would from eating the rich food of Paris. But, to the point (at last you say!), it had to be framboise (raspberry) the fruit we don't get good quality at home, but they do in France and I fell in love with it. Absolutely delicious it was and I wish I could go back another 3 or 4 times to try the other ones!

I'd read about Bertillon's before I got to Paris. About how the queues would be soooo long, but the ice cream was absolutely delicious.
Well I didn't think I was going to get there at all with the busy itinerary our group had, despite us being there for 10 days. However, when I extended my stay by 3 days it enabled me to explore the lovely (understatement) Ile
St Louis and luckily enough I just stumbled on Berthillon. Lo and behold, no queues and a choice of tables pour moi! Great stuff!

Favorite Dish: Can't remember what I had here, but I know it had my favourite framboise (raspberry) in it somewhere. It was delicious indeed!!!!! There's only one other place I've tasted anything to compare and that's Cafe 2000 in Rozelle (inner suburb of Sydney). Tony handmakes his own gelato from the freshest ingredients and they are the best I've had in Sydney so to compare it to Bertillon is high praise indeed.
