I visited Morocco in August 2003 crossing the Gibraltar Strait with the ferry from Spain. I visited Tangier, Marrakesh, Rabat and Asilah, a small, extremely pretty whitewashed coastal town in the northern part of Morrocco. Morocco was a beautiful country to visit. Since my trip was only a week long, I definitely need to go back for some more, but it won't be during summer anymore, because the heat was just unbearable!
Morocco is at the crossroads in a lots of ways. Geographically, obviously, as a gateway to Europe or Africa (depending on how you look at it), but also culturally and economically, being the most tolerant Arab country with strong economic ties to Europe.
