Granada is a beautiful colonial town, which dates back to 1520, and is located on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. It is a city with plenty of colorful buildings and quiet backyards, perfect for strolling around.
Granada is also an ideal starting point for adventure tours, whether it is to the Masaya or Mombacho Volcano, Canopy or Kayaking around the Isletas just off the coast of Granada.
These are the reasons why Granada is probably Nicaragua's favorite destination, as backpackers as well as a growing (mainly US) expat community can attest to. |
