Puerto Madryn's history

Like other villages in the vast and sparsely populated Chubut province of Patagonia, Puerto Madryn was founded by Welsh settlers in the 1860s. Other Welsh villages worthwile visiting are Trelew and Gaiman.

Peninsula Valdes

Puerto Madryn is not a particularly interesting city if it wasn't for its proximity to the Peninsula Valdes which is a reserve full of sea lions, elefant seals and penguins. It is also a great place for whalewatching
