This is the view from my hotel room in Bariloche with the beautiful Nahuel Huapi Lake and the Cordillera in the back.
The Lago Nahuel Huapi National Park is 531 sq km surrounded by the snow-covered peaks of the Cordillera and by forests that cover the lower slopes.. The trout from the lake is supposed to be excellent.
The slopes on Cerro Catredral are around 20 minutes away from Bariloche by minibus. The snowboarding is pretty good, and the skilifts quite modern. There are a couple of accommodations on the bottom of Cerro Catedral, but you are better staying in Bariloche and buying an all-inclusive package with hotel, skipasses and transport to the slopes

I would rank Bariloche as one of the better places in South America to snowboard, after Las Lenas in Argentina and Valle... more travel advice
