La Habana Cuba

Travels in 2006

Like most people coming here, I love travelling and did plenty of that in 2006. The first three months of the year I was working in Brazil (Rio, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, Recife, etc...), where I had spent already half of 2005. In May, I went to Nicaragua, one of the few Latin American countries I hadn't previously been to. In June I left to Switzerland, where I spent most of my time in Lucerne and in the mountains. This was followed by a two-week trip to the Greek Islands, one of my overall favorite destinations. At the end of July, an old dream finally came true when I went on a South East Asia trip to Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. In September I was back home in Miami again before going on a beautiful fall trip to New England. Then, in November came an impromptu trip to Cuba, a place seemingly stuck in time with little changed since the last time I was there 11 years ago. In December, I went to the nearby Florida Keys and laid back Key West.

So, this was 2006 for me: From the craziness of Rio de Janeiro's Carnaval to the tranquillity of Laos' Luang Prabang, from the beauty of the Swiss Alps to the majesty of Angkor Wat, and from the beaches of the Greek Islands to the ones of Habana del Este!

About me

I love the nature and outdoors activities like football (soccer), mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, snowboarding, and other boarder sports.

I have been to most Latin American and Western European countries, so most of my pages are about these two regions. My overall five favorite countries I have been to are probably Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Greece, and Cambodia.

Here are some of countries I have not been to and currently would love to visit: Peru, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Namibia, Tanzania, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Japan.

I speak French, Spanish, Portuguese and German, so you can write to me in any of these languages. Laters, Sam
