"Castlegregory" Castlegregory by NinaRira

I thought I should mention one of my favourite areas in the whole of Ireland - Castlegregory.Located on the North side of the Dingle peninsula it has a truely beautiful coastline and a friendly and genuine village.
There isn't much you can't do around Castlegregory,but it does help if you appreciate the outdoors.
If you enjoy surfing,windsurfing, diving,canoing or just swimming, then the beach is one of the best you will find in Ireland.The beach is a very long stretch of pure sand, while the year round Atlantic waves make it great for all the watersports. It's fun and safe for children too and at a nearby sports centre called 'Jamie Knox' you can rent boards,canoes and wetsuits and join in the fun with everyone else.

What I probably llike best about Castlegregory though is camping down by the beach.There is acres of what is known as comman ground that runs along the beach and as long as you respect the area and make sure you leave it clean,then you can set up your camper or tent and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.Perfect!
If you don't enjoy sleeping outdoors,then there's some great B&B's in the village itself as well as some cosy pubs that serve locally caught fish and seafood.
