| A friendly backpacker took this amazing photo!! |
For our 5th anniversary, my husband and I took our first trip to continental Europe. We spent the entire trip in Paris, 7 glorious days.
Despite HOT weather and aching feet, we had the time of our lives. I cannot wait to go back.
The best thing about Paris is just living there. Going to the corner boulangerie in the morning for a croissant or pain chocolat (had too many of those!). Listening to musicians on the corner. People-watching on the metro, in cafes, at museums. Discovering whatever is around the next bend, which is inevitably beautiful and interesting.
Paris is a city that will appeal to anyone for different reasons. The diversity of things to do is amazing.
I could not recommend a better place to visit - or live! |

| | There is no better city for food Paris offers the ingenius prix-fixe menu. Coming home to boring old American one-course meals is such a downer.
And the food--the glorious food! I never liked French food in America. Well, it's completely different in France. I couldn't get enough of it.
If you spend your money on anything in Paris, spend it on food! You will be happy every day, and you'll have wonderful memories. My entire journal from the trip is just the food that I ate--and I relish rereading about each marvelous bite!
This photo is of a restaurant where we ate, but more importantly, we had to eat there because my husband (pictured) is a PhD student in Philosophy! Perfect! |

| Pros: | "the food, food, food!!" | | Cons: | "You'll exhaust your feet because there's so much to see!" | | In A Nutshell: | "The city itself is a museum" |

It looks great. | TempNomad Tue Oct 14, 2003 20:37 UTC What wonderful tips for Paris! While I can't say finding cats in a cemetary would make me happy (can't stand the fur-balls), I found these pages interesting and informative. Thanks! | littlesam1 Tue Oct 7, 2003 17:42 UTC Paris is my favorite city. We did a lot of walking on our visit also. Of course you have to watch out for the dog doo. |
