  • Mount Victoria in Devonport

  • Catch a ferry ride over to fair Devonport and be charmed by its rustic and debonair beauty.
Time slows down and even takes a step backwards in Devonport. The atmosphere is totally relaxing. The urban jungle and its rat race is totally absent from Devonport. Take a leisure hike up steep Mount Victoria to see the Auckland Skyline as well as the surrounding Auckland area. Capture a 180 degrees panoramic shot of unblocked Auckland from on top of Mount Victoria and bring home the peaceful serenity that Devonport has to offer.

Address: North Shore of the City.
Directions: Across harbour bridge or by ferry. It is easier to purchase a 2-way ticket on the ferry from Queens Wharf and make the crossing.

Cornwall Park & One Tree Hill: Father of Auckland
  • Tip Rating:
  • Auckland Cornwall Park & One Tree Hill
  • Obelisk on Top of 1 Tree Hill
  • by Kilfane

  • Located in Cromwell Park is One Tree Hill. The final resting grounds for Sir John Logan Campbell or better known as the "Father of Auckland". Basically another one of the scenic places where you can have a panoramic picture of Auckland taken. Don't be surprised by farm animals roaming around in Cromwell Park as this park used to be a farm. Do drive up carefully as the hills are steep. However, upon reaching the top, you will know that the careful ascend was well worth the effort.

  • Sky Tower by Night
  • by Kilfane

  • Try to catch a view of the sky tower at night if possible. The tower is bathed in violet light adding its distinct colours to the Auckland nightscape. The night view above the tower is simply stunning for $15 NZD. Definitely not a sight to be missed. Plus if you are feeling lucky. You can always try your hand at the sky tower casino right at the base of the tower.

    Mt Eden: Volcanic Top
  • Tip Rating:
  • Auckland Mt Eden
  • Mount Eden besides Sky Tower from
  • One Tree Hill
  • by Kilfane

  • Go right to the top of Mount Eden to look down the extinct volcanoe's crater. Admire how the steepness of the crater has become a comfortable shelter for the cows that roam Mount Eden. Plus it also offers a tremendous view of the obelisk of One Tree Hill. Try to catch a view of One Tree Hill from Mount Eden and a view of Mount Eden from One Tree Hill. Visit Eden Village at the foothills to experience the olde Englishvillage lifestyle that it offers.
