"Portland, Maine" Portland by HotSpotJ

I had a very brief Portland visit in November 08. This was my first visit to the sytate of Maine and I really had no idea what to expect. The flight in was easy and the scenary was goregous along the coast. The airport was a very easy in and out and all the people were very friendly and either had a Canadien or Bostonian accent.

Portland itself was similar to Boston with cobblestone streets in Old Port (downtown) and some of the more attractive coastline you'll see in New England. I made a small drive to Cape Elizabeth to jog and witnessed one of the more spectacular sunrises of my lifetime.

Nightlife in downtown Portland was actually very nice. There are tons of pubs and restauarants with a great mixture of youth and age. The atmosphere was very laid back and enjoyable. I'd recommend Portland to anyone, as long as it was not in the dead of winter, as they say it gets quite cold.
