"Malibu, California" Malibu by HotSpotJ

Well known for the million-dollar mansions of its many celebrity residences, Malibu is a welcome escape away from the busy go-go attitude of LA and Hollywood. Malibu is located along the Pacific Ocean connecting Santa Monica with Oxnard / Port Hueneme. The best route to get to Malibu is the PCH, but there are other canyon roads that you can use off of the valley and the 101.

My office was about 15 minutes North of Malibu, and it was very nice to drive down on lunch and eat on the ocean, it was also nice in the Winter to drive down and enjoy the sunset after work. There are a few bars and restaurants in Malibu, mostly off of the PCH, that are usually open into early dinner hours. One of the more famous spots to eat is Neptunes Net towards the northern end of Malibu, and a favorite of mine on the South End of the Malibu stretch is Dukes.

If you are in LA and have some time to explore, definately check out the lazy stretch of Malibu along the PCH, and be sure to stop to enjoy the view!

• Pros:Great Ocean Views, amazing mansions on the cliffs, escape from 101 traffic, laid back attitude
• Cons:Somewhat curvy roads, fires always seem to shut the PCH down
• In a nutshell:Malibu is relaxation in SoCal!
