Located on the shallow shore of the Salmon Arm of Shuwsap Lake's four Arms, Salmon Arm is a great place to relax in the summer. A laid-back town with beautiful scenery, this town supports itself with farming, light and heavy industry, sawmills, log home manufacturers, service industry and tourism. It has a large wharf that lends itself to being one of the shopping stops you can make by a 45 minute houseboat journey from Sicamous, Houseboating capital of Canada.
The beaches are varied and not too crowded. Canoe beach, Sunnybrae and Herald Park beach are some of the popular places to go near town.
