I lived right off Av. Providencia, which is a medium class living area with some good night life, too. What makes it attractive for travellers is, that also at night, this is a relatively safe area. Especially in Calle Suecia you will find various clubs, bars and restaurants. So from wild clubbing to chilly people watching with a cool beer in your hand everything is possible.

More central, bigger, a bit wilder and with even more variety incl. night street markets on the weekends is the area of Bellavista, right below Cerro Santa Lucia.

More outside the center, in Las Condes, you find the mall-like entertainment center of San Damian with big restaurants, bars and discotheques. I did not like the setting too much but parties were great....

These are just the highlights, many more places I have been to but can't remember....
