Wasserburg seen from Huberwirt - Wasserburg am Inn

This picturesque city has two different names in the VT database, it figures as "Wasserburg"and "Wasserburg am Inn". On all roadsigns from the Autobahn at Munich until Wasserburg I never saw "Wasserburg am Inn" (as I never saw any roadsign "Wien an der Donau" or "Muenchen an der Isar"). So I decided that I build my page here.

In the almost perfect loop of the river Inn

On this pic (borrowed from the official website of Wasserburg) you can see the perfect setting of this city in the loop of the river Inn - it had obviously a lot of advantages to build a city here. No wonder that it is even older than the nearby Munich.

Pros and Cons

Pros:An idyllic town quite untouched by the 19th and 20th centuries
Cons:the overprized hotel Fletzinger
In a nutshell:a real gem slightly off the beaten path

Fabulous loop of the river Inn with fairy tale town inside... Thanks Anna for showing it to us. Dream to visit it when happen to be in Bavaria again.
