What makes Switzerland so Yummylicious?

by evancheong - last update: Apr 15, 2006

Swiss Cheese is definitely 1 of the best cheese I have ever tasted. It is really true that the swiss cows are given such good upbringing that the milk that are used to produce cheese is simply awesome.

Question of the day
"Why do Swiss cheese have holes in it?"

Gime a shot of Schnapps!

I always tell my friends that is 100% pure vodka. Haha....I do feel it tastes really strong and not too tasty.

Schnapps/Kirsch = generic term for all white (clear) brandies distilled from fermented fruits. Popular ones are made from pears and cherries.

Swiss believe after a heavy meal, typically cheese fondue or any cheese related meals, should be accompanied by a shot of schnapps. Psychologically it helps to break down the cheese and prevent it from forming big cheese balls in your tummy. A tradition passed down generations after generations.

It is also a practice to dip your little bread into the kirsch before dipping into the cheese fondue......not my way of eating for sure. %f%s

Fondues?

Like that other great Swiss invention, the cuckoo clock, fondue wasn't actually invented in Switzerland, but in the Savoy region of France.
This popular dish comes from Switzerland where villagers in the mountains had to rely on local produce, like cheese, wine and home baked bread during the long winter month.

You can also enjoy Fondue Chinoise which is using beef broth instead of cheese. There is also chocolate fondue.

Question:
Which is older?
The Chinese invented the hot pot or was it fondue?
Having cheese fondue in the mountains.

Pros:"Picturesque view, quality of life. Water taste good."
Cons:"Unfriendly, cold and not too fun a city."
In A Nutshell:"Think of Zurich if you want to retire and live peacefully."
