Banteay Srei is a unique site within the Angkor Wat archeological park, and a definite must see. It will become your favorite (or one of your favorites since other places will be so for other reasons).

The temple is unique for its dimensions and refinement: it is way smaller than most of the other temple complexes in the area - specialists compare it to Indian temples rather to the surrounding Khmer style ones - , the stone is of much warmer color and shines incomparably golden in the sun and the carvings are just stunning in their detail and liveliness.

Pros:Most charming site in Angkor Wat archeological park
Cons:Remoteness (30km from Siem Reap) but worth the detour (and plenty of things on the way)
