Welcome to Kunsan

I lived here from January 2002-January 2003 and had a wonderful time. It's a small town, by Korean standards, of about 260,000 people and is a major agricultural port. The main industries are farming, shipping, and manufacturing-a Daewoo plant is located here.

The most well known place here is Wolmyeong park. It's a huge city park that stretches from downtown to the outskirts of the city. Along the way are some beautiful views of the city, harbor, and the Geum river.

The people here are very friendly and used to foreigners as there is an American air base nearby. It is very safe as well. I remember many a night coming home after 2 or 3 in the morning by myself and having no problems. Moreover, I saw high school girls and boys still out after midnight alone - something that would never happen back home.
