Prague is the ultimate East European destination. Still relatively cheap by European standards, Prague is excellent value for money, especially if you enjoy good beer. True, tourists are everywhere around the main landmarks and prices usually reflect this but bargains can still be found.
One main observation is that most tourists frequent the touristy things, a short walk from the main areas and you are immersed in Czech again, without the tourists, without the prices and without the gift shops. For peace and quiet, a reservation for across the Vltava would be best, for gritty bars and the 'real' Prague, the working class area of Zizkov gives the true face of Prague. |
