The Stables Restaurant: A Weekend Affair

The Stables Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated on the main street, but tucked back from the road, overlooking the Town Green. It has a friendly relaxed atmosphere with efficient and attentive service provided by staff.
There are all day, lunch and dinner menus. Also, a selection of fresh cafestyle baking each day - was boysenberry muffins when we went there.
The Stables is housed in one of Arrowtown's original stone buildings of local schist with kauri roof beams and an open fire inside and is apparently one of the region's best examples of stonestabling.

Favorite Dish: We went for brunch and shared a plate of herb and garlic breads to start with which was nice. Mains we had: kiwi brekkie (tomatoes, bacon, rosti, mushrooms, poached eggs and toasted ciabatta), greek salad and spanish omelette.
I had the kiwi fry-up which was great.
