"Jeita" J`ita by TomorrowsAngel

J`ita Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 14 photos

We were driving between Beirut and Mazaar, past the Virgin Mary Statue in Jounieh and up where the roads become steep and winding when we saw the sign Jeita Grotto. And so it was decided.

Jeita is a nice respite from the heart-pounding Grand Prix racetrack aka the motorway system. The leafy green valley and the cool damp caves which, if you listen closely, echo with the prehistoric call of the wild....

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Cave #2 is amazing
  • Cons:No pics allowed
  • In a nutshell:Ok, so we're not talking about 100% untouched glimpse of nature ecotourism, this is lebanese-style tourism after all. But I'd rate it worth a 'look-see' for sure.
