Ho Chi Minh City

binh thay market
We spent 3 days in Ho Chi Minh City - obviously not enough time to even scratch the surface!
HCMC, formerly known as Saigon, lies between the Mekong Delta and South Vietnam. It is 1730km from Hanoi and 50 km from the East Sea.
The region is crisscrossed by heaps of rivers and canals, the largest being the Saigon River.
The climate is hot and humid. The annual average temperature is 27C. The hottest month is April and the coldest is December. Even when we were there in December it was still over 20 deg C.

HCMC is bustling, dynamic and industrious, the largest city in the country, the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter.
The streets, where much of the city's life takes place, are a collision of street markets, shops, pavement cafes, foodstands-on-wheels and vendors selling wares spread out on sidewalks.
Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture.
night city
There are so many museums, pagodas, markets etc to visit, the main ones I saw were: Thien Mau Pagoda, Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Ho Chi Minh City Museum, Binh Tay market and the War Remnants Museum.
Central Ho Chi Minh City teems with life and is the place to be at night on weekends and holidays. The streets are jam-packed with young locals cruising the town on bicycles and motorbikes.

This place sounds very delicious! A lot of food to experience in Ho Chi Minh. Even the name of the city sounds like Chinese noodle name! Thanks ;o).
