Samothraki Island Transportation Tips by magdaki

Samothraki Island Transportation: 6 reviews and 4 photos

moving around

There are 3 taxis on the island (not very convenient, I would think). There is a regular bus service that many tourists prefer, but one has to follow the bus's shcedule (not very convenient either!) In my opinion, the best means would be a rented car or a scooter In kamariotissa there are lots of places that rent them, and they are not very expensive (for example a scooter was for 15 euros per day).

getting there - Samothraki Island
getting there

You can reach Samothraki either from Kavala by ferry (3.5 hours) or from Alexandoupoli by ferry (2.5 hours) or by flying dolphin (1 hour and 10 minutes). The ticket for the flying dolphin from Alexandoupoli costs 15.80 euros and for the ferry it's about 8 euros.
