Samothraki is not your typical greek island. It is more like a mountain that accidentally happens to be surrounded by sea. Its beauty is not in its beaches but in its rivers. And the best meals it has to offer are not fish and other sea food, but goat cheese and goat meat.

If what you have in mind is Myconos and Santorini, don't go to Samothraki.. If what you are looking for is intense night life and clubbing you will be dissappointed. If you dream of golden sand beaches you should look elsewhere for them. This island really knows how to hide its treasures, that's why it hasn't been completely spoiled by tourism yet. You have to sweat in order to find its beauties, but the reward is breathtaking!

Hi nice to see your tour around the sites and trails off the track here - I greatly enjoyed Mykonos and Santorini in May but theres much more Id love to come back to see! and congrats on yr wedding and xlnt ID photo! Christmas Blessings to you too!

This looks like a beautiful place. Of course, I want to visit Santorini and Mykonos b/c they're on the list...but Samothraki looks much more my pace!
