We took a side trip from sleepy Songkhla to spend an evening in the bustling shopper's paradise of Hat Yai. Night markets, shopping malls, and street hawker food all combine to make this city like a miniature Bangkok. Although we never managed to find the red light district (not that we were looking), we did manage to get some tasty chicken satay and mango sticky rice.
Pros and Cons
- Pros:shopping, food, nightlife
- Cons:definitely not the most attractive big city
