"One Night in Bangkok... oh man, how unoriginal" Bangkok by Rodan44

I've been to Bangkok numerous times over the years, and every time I discover something amazing. This has to be one of my favorite cities in the world. It may not be sqeaky clean super-efficient like Singapore, but it's also not scary run-down fear for your life either. It's safe enough to be enjoyable while being shady enough to be interesting. The temples and palaces are utterly mesmerizing, but it's the Chatuchak weekend market that keeps drawing me back. If you don't have a good time here then you should check your pulse.

Our first ever VT meet outside of Singapore!

back row: roongrot99, Pichayada, Rodan44 (me), Trisanna (my wife)
The meet was hosted by local VTers peerara, roongrot99, and Pichayada for Seoul VTer Museberry who was in town on holiday. Daeyita, Trisanna and myself were spending a weekend in Bangkok for Daeyita's birthday, and signed up for the meet at the last minute. We all met at a restaurant in Sumkumvit, afterwhich we went out for some coffee and ice cream. The next day peerapa took all us visitors to Chatuchak market for an intense day of shopping. Afterwards, we met back up with roongrot99 and Pichayada for a wonderful dinner and traditional dance show along the Chao Phraya River. Finally, we finished the night hanging out on Khao San Road. Our hosts were very generous to spend so much time showing us their city, and we all had a great time!
- Pros:temples, palaces, thai food, Chatuchak market, value for money
- Cons:sex tourism
- In a nutshell:I can feel the devil walking next to me
