Cockfight in Bacong - Dumaguete City

Cockfight in Bacong

Watching Cockfighting

Cockfighting is the main entertainment-activity in many parts of the Philippines. The main place for this is in Bacolod in the Northern part of Negros (Occidental), but also in this area you can have a good impression. Not to be advised if you cannot see blood or being an animal-lover, but it is a local habit. In Europe this kind of entertainment is not allowed. In the neighbourhood are two nice cockfighting stadions, the bigger one in Dumaguete and the smaller one nearby the centre of Bacong, 5 km South of Dumaguete. Personally I prefer the Bacong one, this is a local one, not so busy and around the "cockpit" you have seats and tables to drink and eat if you like. It is to be watched on Sundays. Ask local which time the event is taking place.

Address: Dumaguete or Bacong

Directions: Dumaguete is next to the Ceres Bus-terminal in Bacong go right on Dumaguete South Road entering the Centre. and follow the road 2 km.
