There are tours that are offered for a trip to a ranch in the mountains. The stops included an old tequila factory (it is being restored) and Rancho Las Moras. The ranch is an incredible sight. The whole place is decorated with colorful flora.
We had one bad experience on this trip.
We were told that the Racnh would accept credit cards. When we got the bill, they insisted on cash. My meal (ribs) arrived after everybody else finished their meal. I was not impressed with the food. For flavor it was served in a cup of barbque sauce.
Horses were available for riding (at a very expensive rate). The horses looked under fed.
I did not put this under a tourist trap for the following reasons:
-it was nice to go to the mountians and see the scenery
-part of the tour was the tequila factory (was not actually part of the tour but the guide knows the owner)
- the guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out different types of plants (these are in my travelogue "mountain trip"
-the ranch was very interesting to see. There are cabins that could be rented
Hopefully the tour gets better.
