"Awesome Place to visit." Mount Revelstoke National Park by Hermanater

Meadows in the Sky Parkway

The Meadows in the Sky Parkway takes you through forests to subalpine wildflower meadows up a winding 26 kilometres road. There are some view points along the way. The top of the road is a parking lot at which you can hike around Balsam Lake or hike up to the summit at Heather Lake. There is also a shuttle that can take you. The summit can be reached by a 1 km trail. At the summit there are various trails leading you into the back country.

There are bears in this area. You have a better chance of seeing them on your drive up the mountain then on the trails. There is enough human activity at the top that the bears stay lower on the mountain.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Beautiful.
  • Cons:Flowers at their best, bugs at their worst.
  • In a nutshell:Plan on returning for a couple days of hiking...
