There'll always be an England

by Phillylawyer_19107 - last update: May 19, 2006

2001 visit

I am in England relatively often, but usually just on city trips, mainly to London. For many years it has been my dream to discover the beautiful South of England just by travelling from town to town. Finally, in 2001, it became true. We took the ferry from Oostende to Dover and then travelled through England by the following route: Canterbury - Rye - Hever Caste - Arundel - Winchester -Salisbury - Corfe Castle - Bath - Windsor and back to Dover. It was a wonderful journey, we saw so many beautiful and interesting things!

2005 visit

In July 2005, I did another car tour through this beautiful country (travel tips to follow soon - hopefully). The route was as follows: Dover - Royal Tunbridge Wells - Battle - High Wycombe and surroundings - Bicester Outlet Village - Oxford - Blenheim Palace - Cotswolds - Cheltenham - Hampshire and back to Dover. Very much looking forward to it! It was absolutely fabulous. The Cotswolds is the most beautiful area I have ever been to in my entire life!

2006 visit

Ah, I have not updated this page for so long even though I have been to England several times since 2001. So I have to work on the 2005 tips that I haven't written yet. And soon, there will be more tips to add as I'm going back to England this June. So much looking forward to it! Every time I go there, I like this country more. Hopefully one day I'll be able to realize my dream of living there in a small cozy cottage. Route for June 2006: Windsor - Oxford - Cambirdge - Lavenham - Norwich - Ely - Huntingdon - Woodstock and surrounding area - St. Albans and maybe the Thames village.

In A Nutshell:"Every part of England that I have seen so far is unique and very beautiful. And the people are just charming!"

Hiya! This is a really excellent England page! Rye is a lovely little town, I live just a few miles away. You should visit East Sussex again next time you are in the UK! Tschues, Maria :))
