A charming spa town

by Phillylawyer_19107 - last update: Aug 8, 2003

We went to Baden on a day trip during our journey to Vienna. It is a tranquil and nice little town with nice (and like in Vienna: spotless and well-renovated) houses, an impressive plague column and of course the spa buildings (casino, hotels, park). I really liked Baden, in my opinion it is perfect for a day tour or a weekend.
Main square with plague column
The Hauptplatz (main square) with the city hall, the Kaiservilla (where the Austrian emperor stayed during his stay in Baden) and the plague column is really lovely. There is also a cafe where you can sit, sip a cool drink and enjoy the scenery.
