I used to think travel was about getting where you wanted to go. Some sort of necessary evil-type means to an end destination. I had no desire to leave the confines of the U.S. or even the city I was growing up in.

Slowly my eyes widened. I went away to college (not too far mind you) and met people from other parts of the country and then other countries. At the suggestion of a then girlfriend, I went on a trip to Europe. It wasn't my idea, I didn't really have a desire to go but once I was there it was like putting glasses on for the first time. Life burst with possibilities... things unknown... adventures around the corner... cultures to discover... foods to try... magnificent histories to learn.

I'd been bitten by the bug and ever since I've made it my goal to make traveling the end and destinations the means to acheive it.
