Schweitzerhaus is the nicest place in the Prater park to sit down in the garden and have a specially custom made Budweiser beer! The food there is excellent as well and the place is a good going out point for visiting all areas of Prater. The place also often has different manifestations so do check their website for novelties. The garden officially opened this week (end of March) so go and enjoy (and hope for beautiful weather) :)

Plenty of things to do in Vienese Prater. From "shoot them up, Joe" to "old school knock 'm with a ball", to high technology bungee seat going up and down, to shooting cans, to punch'em strong guy, to buggy rides, to hand wrestling.. khm maybe I need to say to try and visit this fun park in the warm months because its not really fun to do all this shoot em ups turnem arounds in the rain or snow! In any event, winter time Prater also offers a lot of fun possibilities. Just check it out!

MQ The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the ten largest cultural complexes in the world. But above all, it is a forward-looking, inner-city cultural district that will have an enormous impact on future trends. The MuseumsQuartier unites baroque buildings, new architecture, cultural institutions of all sizes, various disciplines of art, and recreational facilities in a single spectacular location. The spectrum ranges from large art museums like the Leopold Museum and the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation Vienna) to contemporary exhibition spaces like the KUNSTHALLE wien and festivals like the Wiener Festwochen, an annual summer event this is headquartered in the MuseumsQuartier Wien. Additional highlights include the TanzQuartier, an international, state-of-the-art center for dance, the Architektur Zentrum Wien, production studios for new media, artist studios for artists-in-residence, outstanding art and cultural facilities designed for children, and a variety of other events and festivals such as the renowned Viennale film festival, the ImPulsTanz Festival, and many others. The MuseumsQuartier is unequaled anywhere in the world when it comes to the breadth of cultural opportunities it offers. The exceptional location in the heart of the city also offers all the advantages of an inner city cultural district. Terrace caf?s, oases of green, bars, shops, and bookstores provide for a well-balanced infrastructure in the 60,000 square meter complex in the middle of an extraordinary setting. Old masters and modern art, baroque and cyberspace, expeditions into the realm of the imagination, and recreation in the center of the city were never as close as in they are in the MuseumsQuartier Wien.

The main attactions of the tropical seawater section are the huge fish tanks, the sharks, sea turtles, many different corals, as well as gorgeous fish. The center of the tropical freshwater is the aquarium containing piranhas. A sensation is the new tropical house with free-flying birds and free-running monkeys + free flying bats!. The mediterranean sea section gives an overview over different life-forms of this ocean, starting with anemones to snakes, shells, crabs, sea urchins, starfishs and fish. There are a couple of very nice beaches around the ALTE DONAU AREA. The area we are talking about is KAISERMUEHLEN and there are a number of ways you can get there with public traffic. There are two main private and state(city) owned beaches: one is called STRANDBAD ALTE DONAU and that is in Arbeiterstrandbadstraße 93 in the 21. Bezirk; the other one is called GAENSEHAEUFL and that one is near the university in Kaisermuehlen. It is like a little island connected with the bridge. On both there is public transportation access but also plenty of spaces for cars. Tickets are between 2-6 euros depending on status (like seniors or students), if you take cabins and of course time of day. Pay attention that parking in Gansehaeufl is not for free!

Salm Braeu Brewery, Destillery and Restaurant Welcome in the amazing world of on the premises brewed delicious beers, brewed according old receipies, the love for homestyle cuisine and on the premises destilled brands, made from in house made beers. The historical site has a 450 years history. Salm Braeu is run by the Welledits-Family. Their beers are brewed according to the old traditional receipies and are combined with modern technologies. All beers are authentical in taste, flavour, gravity, it´s proper raw materials and brewing technology. In the brewery a Pilsner Beer is a true Pilsner, using the original raw materials, the necessary brewing technology (double mash process instead of nowadays preferred infusion technology) and the original hops. Also the Weizen Beer at Salm Braeu is brewed according the old bavarian tradition, for that purpose we seperately transport a special yeast from the Brewery Aldersbach near Vilshofen in Germany to Vienna. From time to time they also offer very special beers like Cerveca Guarana, the power beer or Cerveca Mexicana, the best medicine for hot summer days.
