"LOVACKI DOM" ("The Hunter's House"): At Gojko's

Ask anyone from former Yugoslavia where is the best roast lamb meat. Here! In "Lovacki dom" better known as "At Gojko's". It is not in Mostar. It's 45 km before it on the way from Sarajevo. But, if you use this road to Mostar, you have to stop here!

Favorite Dish:
Roasted lamb. It's more expensive then in the rest of restaurant around. Even across the road is another restaurant where one kilogram of it coasts 20 Convertible Mark (KM). At Gojko's is 30 KM (1,95 KM = 1 Euro) but... You can order 100 grams or 200, or as much as you can eat.

Comparison: more expensive than average

Price: US$11-20

In Medjugorje - Mostar
Restaurant "GALIJA" ("THE GALLEY"): In Medjugorje

Restaurant "Galija" ("Galley") in Medjugorje was such a good experience for me. Dalmatinian-Italian restaurant with excellent offer of fresh sea food and Dalmatinian dishes.

Favorite Dish:
As I am not fan of sea food, I took a tomato soup, beef steak and Livanjski cheese. All of that with home made "Blatina" wine tasted very good.

Restaurant "MATEO": Herzegovinian food

"Mateo" restaurant is situated in of the buildings in western Mostar. It is very complicated to find it but if you make to do it, you will have nice experience to try Herzegovinian food. Not very nice restaurant (looks like old communist-time restaurants) offers very nice choice of wine.

Favorite Dish:
"Herzegovinian steak" is steak filled with "kajmak" (milk cream made in special way) is very nice. It is very big and you can hardly eat it all. 13 Convertible Mark (1,95 KM = 1 Euro) is reasonable price for it. "Dingac" is the wine we took with it for a price of 50 KM.

Outside lunch in October - Mostar

Outside lunch in October

Restoran "MLINICA": Excellent view on Old Bridge

The best located restaurant in Old City. The former mill is renovated in nice restaurant "Mlinica" (mill in Herzegovinian dialect). Its terraces are just on the west bank of Neretva and the Old Bridge is few meters far from it. Radoblja River flows into Neretva just by the restaurant. Ideal place for romantic lunch.

Favorite Dish:
Neretva is River where Gurnards live. Restaurant offers excellent fresh Gurnard (around 300grams portion) with cooked potatoes and mangel. It coast 55 Convertible Mark (1,95 KM = 1 Euro) per kilogram. We took "Posip" wine, which coast same per 0.75 liter bottle.

Konoba (Inn) "TAURUS": Excellent Grill

The "Taurus" Inn is located 100m from the Old Bridge. It used to be a mill on Radoblja River. "Taurus" offers a wide choice of specialties: sea food, fish and meat as well as the most renowned Herzegovinian and Dalmatinian wines "Zilavka", "Blatina", "Postup", "Dingac"...
Enjoy in nice terrace and a view to very nice Radoblja River and Kriva Cuprija (Crooked Bridge) which is just next by.

Favorite Dish:
I took mixed meat. It was a lot of different kinds of meat prepared on the grill, served with potatoes and vegetables. I think that there was almost kilogram meat in the portion. And it's not expensive. Just 15 Convertible Marks (1,95 KM for 1 Euro).

Restaurant "Stari Mlin" (Old Mill): Fresh Clams

Another old mill rearranged in restaurant. Nice few from the terrace on Crooked Bridge and Radoblja River makes the restaurant more exotic. Inside, it also looks very nice.

Favorite Dish:
Clams are fantastic but expensive. 80 KM (1,95 KM = 1 Euro) for kilogram but they are fresh. Wine, "Zilavka", the most popular Herzegovinian white wine. Only 35 KM for 0.75 liter bottle.

Comparison: more expensive than average

Price: US$31-40
