Things To Do: The Adolphe bridge

The bridge was built between 1900 and 1903 when Grand Duke Adolph was ruling the country. At that time the bridge had the biggest stone arch in the world. It has a total lenght of 153 meters and the big double arch spans more than 85 meters at a height of 42 meters.

Things To Do: Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge

Also known as the red bridge. It is 355 meters long on a height of 74 meters. Has a weight of 4900 tons, the span between the pillars is 234 meters.

Things To Do: Grand Ducal Palace

This is the the city residence of the Grand-Ducal family. Since 1890 the main building has been the Grand Ducal Palace. Between 1992 to 1995 it has been restored. In my opinion it looks so unreal, reminds me of a Disneyland building.

ARCELOR, the biggest steel company in the world. The impressive headquarters were built in 1922. The building previously hosted the company Arbed before its fusion with Aceralia and Usinor.

Built in the 17th century by the Spaniards. There must have been 37 of them, but there is no historical proof. Why they were built isn't known.

Named after the fort Bourbon, wich was very important for the defense of the city. The fort Bourbon was dismanteld in 1867.

Things To Do: Clairefontaine Square

The name of the square comes from a place of shelter; wish was demolished in 1933. The square was redesigned in the eightees and was part of a restoratian and reconstruction of a whole district. In the middle is the statue of Grand Duchess Charlotte.
