  • If you're coming from Forsyth stay on Juliette Road and turn right AFTER McCrackin street. This will lead you into an area of local homes. Keep your eyes on the water (which you should see) and keep heading that direction (this will take you down tiny roads until you run out of pavement). Soon you may see a sign that says something like "Boat Drop" or "Canoe Launch." Head in there and park - from there you'll get a great view of the Dam which Buddy, Ruth and lil' Idgie walked on (or their stunt doubles did anyway) when Buddy told the great story about the ducks in the frozen lake.

Keep an eye out (especially with children) as the water was low when I went so the "boat drop" was just a "drop" with some rusty poles sticking out in places and there were quite a few places where somebody could get hurt.

  • If you head into Juliette and turn onto McCrackin Street (where all the shops and food stops are) you can keep heading down the road!

It appears to end but keep going and you'll turn (with the old Juliette Mill on your left) and keep going. Eventually (maybe a mile) you'll find the church where Reverend Scroggins preached and the little cemetery where Ruth, Buddy and all the Threadgoodes were "buried."
