It was that time of year again, our annual department outing. Gonnie was insisting upon doing
something close to her home. So it was decided we go to De Kwakel. No one except her had ever
heard of the place. It is an extremely small village, but they have a great outdoor centre.
Poldersport de Kwakel is the place to do poldersurvivals. Poldersurvival??? YES, do try to
our polders. They have built many things to help you cross the water. Help?, sometimes it was more
helping you in the water. But we had great weather, as the entire summer of 2003 is great.
So no trouble in getting wet, in fact it was nice to cool down. The only down point being the polder
water is not always clean, but mostly muddy...
We started with a quiet and easy canoe trip through the canals around the Kwakel. It was not always easy to avoid hidding bridges or getting stuck but we all came back to the farm where the survival was going to happen.
Not everybody made it back dry. Judy and dick were the first ones to get wet when their cano tipped over.
They took a quick shower and the dirt was gone. They had an advantage over the rest of us. It didnīt matter anymore if they made it across dry....... ;)
- Pros:good for teambuilding
- Cons:water is dirty and wet !!!
- In a nutshell:Great fun at Poldersport de Kwakel
