Abt. 75 km from Paris you can find this most wonderful village of Giverny, located on the right bank of the River Seine, at its confluence with one of the two branches of the River Epte. The village is not more than in fact two streets. The main attraction of this village is the house of the painter Claude Monet, who came here in 1883 and stayed till his dead in 1926. At the time there were about 300 inhabitants in Giverny, most of them farmers, and a few middle-class families.
Open daily except Mondays from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm from April 1st to November 1st. Exceptionnally open on following Mondays : Easter Monday, Whit Monday. Dogs and other pets are not admitted |
