From the roughly 70 Venezuelan islands is Margarita the largest. The name Margarita is originated from Greek and means "pearl". The island has dozens wonderful beaches, which varies from small, looking almost as private beaches, to large beaches with many cheap restaurants, where you can eat the most delicious fresh fish for almost nothing (large lobster abt. $ 10. -). There are plenty attractions to visit on this island. The best is to hire a jeep, so you can explore the whole island. And when that's not enough you can visit also other island(s) in the neighbourhood or even the mainland of Venezuela. It was a fantastic vacation and I must say, although we didn't spare on our spending, it was the cheapest 2-week holiday we ever had. |
