I don´t think that Turkey is a place to visit in the summer - not for me, it´s to hot 40 -45 ´C, but it was a really nice country, the water was clean an warm, we had a nice apartment with air condition - so I will be back but not during the summer.

Kebab in all shapes, very tasty food, delicious!
We had Ottomanisher kebab, döner kebab etc.... Lambchops with baked potatoes and so on...
Beer is quite cheap and I think that Turkish wine deserves a better reputation than it has - really good!
Some tourist can´t stand that the locals try to drag them in to their resturants, shops and so on, but it´s a part of ther culture and it´s quite common in a lot of countries and my tip is: Take it easy You are on vacation and they are just trying to make money, they are very friendly as long as You answer with a smile and "No thank You"
- Pros:A lot to see, old Roman amphietheatre etc...The weather, the food and wine
- Cons:Prices are a lot higher in Side than Alanya
- In a nutshell:Turkey is one of the better parts of Europe.

Nice page and travelogues of Side ! We stayed there two times for some days, while travelling along the coast.
Hi Per, lovely Side pages, we were in Alanya this year. Never been to Side, but we may consider it. I agree Turkish people are very friendly, and the kebaps, delicious :-)
