4,2 millon people lives in Singapore but it is a quite calm and relaxed atmosphere, very clean and no pollutions at all, no criminality, no one is chasing you for taxi or annoying streetvendors could be found here.
Taxis are very cheap here and they all go for taximeters.

This is a 3 star hotel and is all right for sleeping. The staff was a little bit snobby and not serviceminded at all,... more travel advice
