Vrapciste Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 5 photos
Vrapchishte is located in the North-West of R. Macedonia on the slopes of the Shar Mountain at 580 meters of height above sea level in the Gorni Polog District.
Today Vrapchishte with its great number of population looks like a small and modern town.
There are a lot of educated young people at university level and their number is increasing. Almost in each family there is one member who has completed the studies at the University. There are teachers, professors, journalists, doctors, doctors and masters of sciences and professors who teach at the Universities in the country and abroad, (Turkey, and Malaysia). Besides them there are a lot of students who are studying at the universities of Skopje, Bitola, Tetovo, Prishtina, Belgade, Saraevo, Istanbul, Ankara, Eskshehir and others. Some of them work in the European countries, mostly in Switzerland and Germany and recently in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In the first two countries they mostly work in factories, but in the Czech Republic and Slovakia they have their own pastry shops. They also have pastry shops in the former Republics of Yugoslavia.
Until the 70s of the last century the agriculture in Vrapchishte was more developed than now. Vrapchishte was famous by its melons, peppers and tobacco. But unfortunately, after the 70s the melons and the peppers were not grown as much as before. However, the tobacco is still the priority of Vrapchishte, which is very famous and it is even mentioned in the book of Professor D. Ferid Muhic, where it is said that Vladimir Ilic Lenin was smoking the famous Vrapchishte tobacco.
Today with its primary school, where 538 Turkish pupils, 380 Albanian and 110 Macedonian pupils are studying, and with the 24 employed Turkish teachers, 14 Albanian and 9 Macedonian teachers, with its community building and the local health station, with its asphalt roads, with its new opened center for children and young people, one non-governmental organization, 6 internet cafes, 22 shops, 10 boutiques, 2 bakery shops, with its 4 factories for furniture and 2 production halls for windows and doors, 8 cafeterias and with its more than 1000 families, Vrapchishte represents one small modern town.
