Dubai is the home of sand, sea, sun and shopping. It is a combination of modern and traditional city.
Population: 997,000 Area: 35 sq km (15 sq mi) Country: United Arab Emirates Emirate: Dubai Time Zone: GMT/UTC plus 4 hours
The best time of the year to visit Dubai is between November and April, when the weather is coolest and (you can say it is our winter)

| | Dubai Palm Island Dubai has unveiled plans for a palm tree-shaped resort island on land reclaimed from the sea that will add 120 kilometres of sandy beaches and be visible from the moon.
"Palm Island" will include 2,000 villas, up to 40 luxury hotels, shopping complexes, cinemas and the Middle East's first marine park..
The island will be built in the shape of 17 huge fronds surrounded by 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) of protective barrier reefs, extending five kilometres (three miles) into the sea south of Dubai city.
The project has taken four years of methodical planning and exhaustive feasibility studies to ensure that the islands can be built without disrupting the environment
They will be accessible by 300-metre (990-feet) bridges from the mainland or boat to two marinas, while the main causeway will also have a monorail system.
The project will be built on 80 million cubic metres (2.8 billion cubic feet) of land dredged from the approach channel to the emirate's Jebel Ali port, an operation that will deepen the channel to 17 metres (56 feet). you can check Dubai page for more information and new projects |
Facts Some important fact to help you making decision about visiting UAE:
1.The UAE is a modern country , if you are coming to archeology you might not find much but there are some interesting places like Sharjah. 2.If you want to enjoy Arabic tradition and see the Bedouin life, you will see it in special traditional villages with live shows especially during the shopping festival, and if you spend some days camping in desert you might pass through some of the villages and meet some people , they are really kind and welcome tourists. They got used to their existence and the UAE was an attraction point even before oil discovery. I remember my grandmother, who is a Bedouin, telling us how English people used to come to buy some stuff they made, and too take pics about their life and sometimes there were even buying some deserts animals ! that was back on the 40s and 50s. 3.There are 2 main events held in Dubai each year, The Dubai Shopping Festival DSF (Feb to April) and Dubai Summer Surprises DSS ( June to August). Personally, I prefer the shopping festival, as the weather become cool and all the activities outdoors unlike the DSS, besides during DSF more events held especially the global village which bring us the whole world in one place , representatives of each country come and show there traditional dances, products and they wear traditional clothes. That gave me a chance to see different cultures of people and countries, it is mini world I think. I will take pics inshallah of the coming village and post it. 4.The best time to visit UAE is from Oct to end April, as it will be great time for outdoor activities and you will not worry about the heat. Howe ever, the rest of the year is too hot it reaches an average of 40 C during July, and most of the UAE people travel to Europe and Asian to escape from the heat, so if you are planning to visit you will manly spent times inside air conditioned shopping malls and watch DSS inside air-conditioned places. You can make a summer adventure and try the natural heat once in your life ;-) 5.I grantee that you will have 100% fun either during summer or winter and it is 100% secure and safe to come over here | | |
