As part of China's economic reform to help improve this country's standard of life, the Pearl Delta Region, including Guangzhou was designated as a Special Economic Administrative Zone. It was an experiment to see if China would benefit from a new economic system.
Apparently, the results have been positive, & China seems to be headed for the next Golden Age. |
YUM ! Anyways, this is the capital of the province of Guangdong, & before the 1940s, it was way more prosperous than Hong Kong. Now it is regaining economic strength, as it was the first area in China that welcomed foreign investments. Personally, the best attraction in Guangzhou is food, for it is China's culinary capital. Dim Sum & many Chinese delicatessens first developed here. |
Land Of My Ancestors Until my first trip to Guangzhou, I never knew that this was where generations of my ansectors were living. Though it felt really weird, it would explain why the people in my ancestor's hometown look strangely similiar to me. |
