Before I write my comments and views on Geneva I want everyone who reads this to understand that there was no research whats so ever into our stay, so I imagine we missed a huge amount of what Geneva has to offer.
We was based on a camp site on the edge of the lake heading away from the city center.
My impressions of Geneva was not so good...it just seam like an ordinary city that had a huge amount of grafitti which in turn made it look quite dirty in my eyes.
The people looked miserable but in all fairness they was very pleasent to deal with....just looked miserable.
Unless I am corrected or sudenly find out what I have missed, I can not see in the near future me returning to Geneva.
I guess before our journey even begun we was filled with negative attitudes towards Geneva by hearing various stories of how expensive it is and a millionares playground....in reality this was not to be the case. Also our two days here was towards the end of our very demanding off road 4x4 trip in and around the Alpes....we was quite content and prepared to do very little and had few expectations of Geneva.

Well, i think all the big towns has some negative thing, but i am sure there are some things that worth a visit such the lovely fountain in Lake Geneva you showed us. | CALSF Mon Nov 15, 2004 19:45 UTC
Shaun, I'm surprised to learn that Geneva is so dirty. I've always pictured Geneva as being this clean Swiss city. I've thought of visiting but changed my mind as there aren't many sights so I've opted for other cities to visit instead. |
